TEENA PATEL
UNIVERSITY OF DOGLANDO FOUNDER & CEO
“Seeing things from a dog’s point of view”... she lives it, breaths it,
and plays it!"
About Teena:
Teena Patel, founder and CEO of the University of Doglando, might best be described as a philosophical entrepreneur. As a leading dog trainer and behavioral counselor, she works to help dog owners develop life long relationships with their canine companions, based on trust, understanding and respect. Teena is an energetic and dynamic individual, embracing every opportunity to improve living conditions of those less fortunate, and develop activities that strengthen the human-dog bond.
Education:
Teena completed her B.S. in Psychology from the University of Central Florida, graduating in May of 2002, and then pursued her M.B.A. from the University of Phoenix; graduation in 2004. She has numerous certifications in all forms of Animal Behavior, Counseling, Training and Instruction, and hopes to continue her studies to purse a Doctorate degree in the near future.
About U of D:
In her quest to create a highly successful dog day care and cage free boarding model, Teena traveled the Nation visiting more than 30 day cares. Resembling no other facility, the University of Doglando is built on the concept of seeing things from a dog's point of view. This unique facility boasts a 3.5 acre campus, completely fenced in, providing "students" the freedom to run, roll, dig, splash and sleep like a dog. Unarguably, Teena's vision will redefine and improve the pet and pet owner experience by bringing style, sophistication and understanding to this growing industry.
U of D's mission statement:
Our mission is to provide products and services that will enrich every dog's quality of life, provide their "parents" peace of mind, and create and nurture relationships based on trust, compassion and loyalty to our canine companions; thus the creation of University of Doglando, "Campus life for dogs".
Prior dog-related experience:
Prior to opening the University of Doglando, and while in her last year of Undergraduate studies, Teena opened her dog training school formally known as Love 4 Paws. Her vast experience in the field of Psychology and Animal Training includes training Birds of Prey, Chickens & Pigeons, ferrets and of course her most beloved… canines.
Other related experience:
In addition to providing companion training services, day care, cage free boarding and grooming services to owners and their dogs, Teena also worked in the capacity of a Mental Health Counselor for youths with multiple behavioral disorders for two years and subsequently as counselor for Juvenile Sex Offenders for three years.
