    Tail Waggin' Testimonials

My name is Christina Tracey, my husband and I travel for a living with the Broadway Show Wicked, we move to a new city in the US every six weeks. Also, in tow, is our 3 year old Jack Russell, Jetson! Our little Buddy, has been traveling with us since he was just 5 months old! We have used Doggie Day Care and Dog Walking services all over the country and I must say...without a doubt! University of Doglando is the Best Doggie Day Care we have ever had the pleasure to experience! And I do mean Experience! From the moment you enter the gates of Doglando, something is very different from any other Doggie Day Care and the difference is..silence!  No barking dogs, no pee pee smells just calm Happy dogs of all sizes and breeds playing together outside, behaving and learning from the staff! At the University Of Doglando, dogs really do learn!  They learn not to bark constantly, they learn to play and get along with all breeds, no aggression, no matter of the size, and they all learn to sit before entering the play yard! For my super hyper jack, he learned not to show dominance with other dogs ( i.e. Humping)! Everyday we used Doglando's services there was plenty of supervision from the staff and my dog was always completely worn out at the end of the day! Which is what every Jack Russell parent needs and wants! I could not say enough about Doglando! I wish that what Teena and the staff of Doglando has created in this Doggie Day Care was more of a standard to all Doggie Day Cares' across the country, but unfortunately for us travelers, that is not the case! Teena, Thank you for 6 weeks of stress free pet sitting and creating a Doggie Heaven for Jetson! We will miss you!"

Our 2 year old pit Cinnamon loved going to school at Doglando!! It was a great experience for all of us. We really learned a lot of basics in getting her to pay attention when she was distracted, and to focus on us for cues. She has always been a good dog; but she loves people so much that she would get super excited when people would come around and quit listening to us! We have had a huge improvement since we attended the AA training course. We have signed her up for the BS and can’t wait to get started!! University of Doglando is a great place with a wonderfully unique perspective and attitude! They really care about improving your dog’s quality of life and your relationship with your dog!!

    Thank you for everything!

In 2009, my husband passed away after months on Hospice Care.  Our then year old puppy, Hooch was traumatized with his dad being ill and dying, strange people coming in day and night and his mother in utter emotional chaos.  After Lee’s death, I had to return to a life of traveling with my job and with no where else to turn I had to board Hooch.  Not knowing where to go, I turned to his Vet’s office, thinking this would be the safest and best environment for him.  It only further traumatized Hooch which also traumatized me as he was, is and always will be my best friend.  I was desperate as I planned a week long business trip out of town.  I knew Hooch was not happy and I was panic stricken about what to do.  I heard about Teena and Doglandos cage free environment.  When I heard that Hooch would get to go home with one of the staff each night I knew I had to find the University of Doglando.

Teena and the staff at Doglando understood Hoochs anxiety.  They worked with him and helped him adjust and feel safe.  It’s been over a year since his dad passed away and Hooch is a regular at Doglando.  It’s his new home away from home and I consider Doglando his “Step-Family”. He gets so excited when I pack his backpack and tell him he’s going to “school”.  He loves the staff at Doglando, kissing each staff member as he enters the door.  When I see the smile on his face and his tail wagging, I know I’ve made the right decision.  When Hooch is happy, I am happy and he’s certainly happy at Doglando!  Thank you Teena and all your staff for your professional knowledge of dog behavior and patience and understanding with both Hooch and I as we adjust to a life without Lee!  Special thanks to Jennifer who makes Hooch feel loved and welcome whenever he gets to stay with her at her home.  Hooch and I love you and Doglando!

"The University of Doglando takes canine socialization beyond the realm of traditional doggie daycare. Teena Patel and her staff offer a true enrichment experience for their canine guests. Prearranged social groups organized to ensure appropriate levels of interaction and top notch supervision put U of D paws and shoulders above other doggie daycares I have seen. This attention to detail and knowledge demonstrates Teena’s passion for canines and their true welfare."

After the k9 nosework workshop I tried to describe Doglando to others. That was not easy. Is it a doggie daycare? Not really, it is so much more than that. A training facility? No, dogs get so much more out of a day at Doglando than just training. They learn to be social and to function in a group of other dogs. They learn that after exercise and fun activities, there is a time to relax and to behave in a home-like enviornment. Doglando is everything any dogowner should look for. A day at Doglando is a gift for any dog. A unique place, supervised by Teena and her team of professionals - a place where dogs can be dogs - while the owners can have peace of mind. Very impressive.

"Going to a dog park was not an option with Jadyn & Nellz. Our dogs were not socialized and could not tolerate looking at other dogs let alone playing with them. Since they have been enrolled in Doglando you can see a difference."

"... Teena Patel's concept of a cage free center is marvelous.  Allowing the dogs to be free and learn to be a dog and deal with other dogs is such a rare occurrence in today's world.  Very few dogs ever have the opportunity to learn in this fashion and to have someone who is dedicated to doing it correctly while understanding dogs, dog behavior and dog language is a blessing to all who have the opportunity to attend her day care center."

We would like to thank University of Doglando and the staff, especially Jessica and Ashley, for such a wonderful puppy training experience.  We adopted our 8 week old puppy from a rescue organization with the simple hopes for a nice dog, a loving companion and a new member of our family.  My husband and I searched for a mix of the particular breeds that we grew up with and adopted our cute puppy, Ralphie.  As he grew, it became apparent that he wasn't the particular breeds we planned on adopting, but he was still our lovable ball of puppy.

As he grew out of that cute "sleepy puppy" phase and settled into our routine, we noted new and more willful behavior that we had not anticipated. Behavior that we wanted to channel in the right direction, but just didn't know how to redirect at such a young age. (Everything we read about puppy training said to start training after 12 weeks old.)

Ralphie was 10 weeks old when he started the University of Doglando Pre K-9 class.  Our goals and expectations could be summed up with wanting "the dog being nice", "not biting" and have him "sit", "stay" and listen to us. Little did we know the work we were in for! We walked out of our first session with the new knowledge that everything we knew and expected going into that class, was now changed and would evolve into a completely new way of thinking by class #2.

My husband and I worked with Ralphie constantly, completing our assigned homework and joking that we had signed up for "Puppy Bootcamp".  In that first week alone, switching the puppy to a "working" mindset, we saw amazing things. Ralphie quickly understood that there was no such thing as a free meal and we understood that we both needed to communicate clearly and consistently to garner the best results for our puppy. The challenge of the Pre K-9 training, combined with his vigorous play times and regular walks was shaping a more content puppy.

Any apprehension Ralphie initially had with being around other dogs and puppies quickly disappeared with the regular Saturday puppy socialization combined with the puppy Pre K-9 training in class. Vet appointments were not challenging, our puppy allows the vet to do a physical inspection and administer shots without a fuss.  Each new Pre K-9 training task would be taught, reinforced and tested for Ralphie's successful completion along with our compliance as owners.  Sometimes the puppy got it right, even if we weren't being as clear as we should be! We were always given great feedback and observations by Jessica and Ashley and any questions were always answered completely. They went above and beyond the call of duty, sometimes staying late, to be sure that our puppy was progressing as he should.

Our initial expectations of having a nice dog that sits and stays and doesn't bite/nip have been far exceeded.  We have a content puppy that focuses, listens, is happy to do what he's told and who loves his solo playtime or playtime with other dogs.  While he's still our lovable ball of puppy, he's now receptive to new training and my husband and I are both more clear and consistent in our communication as owners. At 4 months old, sometimes walking around the neighborhood can still be challenging when a squirrel or lizard darts by or a child runs up to give him enthusiastic lovies, but with the continued practice of all that we have learned at University of Doglando, we know that our collective work will pay off and Ralphie will continue to grow into a good canine citizen and a happy dog. We are looking forward to the Fall BS in Dogology class and hope that the trainers and staff will be happy with Ralphies continued progress.

    Thanks so much!

It gives me great joy to know that every time I bring Blade and Bullet to Doglando they are going to have an incredible day.  I know this from the moment I tell them they are going to the PARK, the get so excited that they jump up and down and run into each other clamoring to get out the door and into the car.  Once they are in the car, the excitement is hard to contain, they know when we are almost there and their heads per up and look out the windows at the same time, starting to whimper about 1 mile before we arrive to Doglando.

University of Doglando has been a great asset for both my dogs.  Grady has finally learned some great and much needed social skills and interacts much better with other dogs now.  Hazel was so fearful and timid before Doglando, and even showed some aggression towards dogs.  Now she is confident and has learned how to play.  No more aggression!

I love to bring both my dogs to Doglando to burn off energy.

Doglando's staff are the kindest, sweetest people in the world.  No wonder they all love to attend daycare.   It has made such a huge difference in my dogs (3) behaviors.  I just can not say enough good things about everyone.  I have told all my friends about Doglando.  Doglando is the best!

    - Liz Whitley

I love everything about the University of Doglando.  Our family loves the wonderful caring people who work with our prized family members - teaching them to have fun safely.  I cannot give enough applaud to everyone's efforts at Doglando.  Thank you Doglando.

Teena Patel and the staff at University of Doglando are a blessing. All of my friends encouraged me to get rid of my dog saying he just had too much energy. I, of course, could not even think about such a thing. Soon after Oliver met Teena and Doglando, they changed their tune and now remark that he is such a good dog. I always knew he was a good dog, but it took Teena and all of the great people at Doglando to show everyone else what a good dog he is!
